What Stolen Mode is
Stolen Mode is a feature on Core and Icon membership that changes how your Raleigh ONE behaves after theft. It’s not a label on a map; it’s an active state that gives you more information, more frequently, makes it possible for others to help and make sure your bike can’t be used.
What happens when you activate it
Activating Stolen Mode through the app triggers two things:
More frequent location updates
In normal operation, the bike logs to its GPS location at key moments, when switched on, off, or disturbed. In Stolen Mode, the bike increases the frequency of those location pings. You get a closer-to-real-time picture of where it is and where it's going.
The bike stays locked
Once Stolen Mode is active, the Raleigh ONE remains in a locked state. Whoever has it can't ride it normally. It won't assist. The motor stays inactive. The bike becomes considerably less useful to whoever took it.
How to activate Stolen Mode
- Open the Raleigh app
- Scroll down in the homescreen
- Tap 'Stolen Mode'
- Confirm the activation
The mode activates immediately. The bike's behavior changes immediately. You can share the tracking link as soon as it generates.
What to do next
Stolen Mode is a tool, not a guarantee. Here's how to use it effectively:
- File a police report as quickly as possible, include the live location link
- Share the tracking link with anyone physically able to help search nearby
- Monitor the location through the app, note any patterns in movement
- Don't attempt to recover the bike yourself if the location is unfamiliar or potentially unsafe
The combination of a timely police report, a live tracking link, and a locked bike is the best possible starting position for recovery.
When to deactivate
Once you have the bike back, deactivate Stolen Mode through the app. The bike returns to normal operation, the location tracking frequency returns to standard, and the shareable link becomes inactive.
If the bike is not recovered, but the situation has resolved, the police have taken over, or the tracking has gone cold, you can deactivate Stolen Mode at any time. The bike remains locked until you connect with, and unlock it through, the app.
